Land is a critical asset for promoting agricultural production and economic enhancement. Secure land tenure is strongly associated with higher levels of investment and productivity in agriculture and therefore higher incomes and greater economic wellbeing. Globally, women form the biggest percentage of land users, making women’s land rights a strong determinant for attaining women’s empowerment, gender equality, poverty eradication and sustainable economic growth.
